SoundBytes: Ween, Blues Traveler, Jonny Lang and more
-- Were you at Ween's Feb. 1, 2008 concert at Jannus Landing in St. Petersburg? Download a bootleg here for free, courtesy of Largehearted Boy and the Internet Archive.
-- Feel like you need some harmonica in your life? Blues Traveler is coming to the State Theatre on April 26. Even better, they're letting two kickass Tampa Bay bands, Dive Bar Stalkers and the Black Honkeys, open the show. Tickets are $24. Click here for details.
-- Blues guitarist extraordinaire Jonny Lang is coming to Ruth Eckerd Hall on May 21. No word yet on ticket prices, but they go onsale Friday at noon. Click here for details.
-- Also coming to Ruth Eckerd Hall, on June 29: Earth, Wind and Fire. Tickets go onsale Friday. Click here for details.
-- We made a big deal out of it when Maria Bamford came to town (she's at the Improv this weekend). So we'll make a big deal out of it now that another one of the Comedians of Comedy is coming to Tampa. Brian Posehn will be at the Improv in Ybor City April 15-17. In addition to being funny, he's a huge metal fan -- and hey, he was the lead singer of Titannica, too. Click here for tickets.
-- Speaking of comedy, Tom Arnold was supposed to be performing at Side Splitters in Tampa on April 22-24. Now he's not. Click here for, um, nothing.
-- And speaking of portly middle-aged comedians, Ron White has added a second show May 22 at Ruth Eckerd Hall. He'll now perform at 7 p.m. (which is sold out) and 10 p.m. Click here for details.
-- Looks like Sarasota's Vinyl Music Festival is returning for another year on July 22-25. Click here for our story about last year's VMF.
-- Tampa's Marksmen are gonna start working on a full-length album in April.
-- Yes, that was Jeff Shroeder from The Amazing Race sporting an Acafool T-shirt.
-- Drummer Sonny Harlan is leaving Rebel Pride. If you've always wanted to play drums in a Southern rock band, click here.
-- Finally, need something free and fun to do tonight? Check out experimental Idaho band Evolucid, who are playing a free show at Fubar in St. Petersburg. There will be free pizza -- oh yes, there will be free pizza.

50 Concerts
Why would anyone voluntarily attempt to see 50 concerts at 50 different venues in a single summer? Jay Cridlin shrugged and thought: Eh, why not.
