Tampa Bay's 25 must-see concerts of spring and summer 2010
We know it's been a crazy-busy week for concert announcements around these parts: Jack Johnson, Kings of Leon, Sting, Colbie Caillat, Passion Pit, Flaming Lips, Bo Burnham and more. It's that time of year when artists start announcing summer tours, and with each day that passes, our datebooks get more and more filled.
So let's take a look at the next four months. What are the 25 absolute must-see concerts in Tampa Bay between now and the end of summer?
The rules: We're only including concerts through the end of July, so no Brad Paisley, Kings of Leon, Jack Johnson, Mayhem Fest and more. (One exception: Lilith Fair, which now looks like it'll be near the beginning of August.) And we're not listing this week's concerts -- Wilco, Wild Splash, Rodrigo y Gabriela and more. We'll give you next week's concert picks Thursday at noon, as usual.
Click here for the full list, along with venue and ticket info. In the meantime, here are the 25 shows you gotta see, month by month:
March: Duncan Sheik, Gretchen Wilson, Alicia Keys
April: Arctic Monkeys, Copeland, Of Montreal, Tampa Bay Blues Fest, Bon Jovi, Surfer Blood, Jimmy Buffett, 98 Rockfest (with Alice in Chains and Limp Bizkit, above)
May: Ben Harper, ZZ Top, Tim McGraw, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Angels and Airwaves, Country Throwdown Tour (with Montgomery Gentry), Tropical Heatwave
June: James Taylor and Carole King, Brooks and Dunn,
July: Sting, Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band, Vans Warped Tour, Dave Matthews Band
Still to come: Lilith Fair

50 Concerts
Why would anyone voluntarily attempt to see 50 concerts at 50 different venues in a single summer? Jay Cridlin shrugged and thought: Eh, why not.
