Once again, Tampa Bay jam-band fans will have to head north for Florida's biggest gathering of the year.
The Wanee Festival at Spirit of the Suwanee Music Park in Live Oak just unveiled its 2018 lineup, and right at the top are two big names — Widespread Panic and Phil Lesh and the Terrapin Family Band — playing two nights apiece.
Other names at next year's Wanee, April 19-21: Dark Star Orchestra, Jaimoe's Jasssz Band, St. Paul and the Broken Bones, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood, North Mississippi Allstars, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Walter Trout, the Marcus King Band and many others.
There's also an act near the top called As the Crow Flies, which is kind of a mystery at this point. There are several bands across social media by that name, but none seem big enough for that kind of placement. So it's probably a new bigger-name project. Maybe something to do with former Black Crowe Chris Robinson?
Weekend passes to Wanee 2018 start at $219.95 and are on sale now. Click here for details.
