Fleet Foxes coming to the Ritz Ybor in Tampa

Cross another big band off the Tampa Bay bucket list.

Harmonious Northwestern indie rockers Fleet Foxes are coming to town for the first time next spring, with a gig at the Ritz Ybor on March 1. Tickets start at $36.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Click here for details.

The booking is a coup for a number of reasons, not the least of which has to do with the date. Tampa kind of lucked out in nabbing this gig the same weekend as the Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival in South Festival, which had to have at least been looking at them. For the Ritz, it's a big booking the week before the Gasparilla Musci Festival, which Fleet Foxes could arguably headline.

Also, Fleet Foxes were always one of those Bands Who Never Played Tampa (see also: Phoenix, LCD Soundsystem, the National, etc.). Like Spoon and the Shins this year, this debut performance should pack in fans and probably sell out well in advance.
