Oh, how times have changed.
Back in 2012, Snow Patrol sold out Jannus Live in St. Petersburg, but a not-insignificant chunk of fans were there to see the opening act. Earnest young ginger by the name of Ed Sheeran.
"Don't be surprised to see him back here soon," I wrote in my review of the show, "only this time, he'll be the one headlining."
Lo and behold, here we are in 2018, with Sheeran, now a superstar, headlining Raymond James Stadium on Nov. 7. And guess who he's bringing to Tampa as his opening act? That's right: Snow Patrol. Always feels good to repay a favor, isn't it?
The Irish rockers best known for earnest alt-pop hits like Chasing Cars, Just Say Yes, You're All I Have and Chocolate are supporting their seventh studio album Wildness, so the timing works out for a trek across America. The fact that they'll be playing stadiums is just the icing on the cake.
The other artist listed on the bill is Lauv, a California singer-songwriter best known for his I Like Me Better.
Tickets to the show are on sale now for $67 and up, according to Ticketmaster. Click here for details.
