Ghost coming to Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater

Here's a pairing of artist and venue we didn't see coming, but one that should prove pretty fun nonetheless.

Ghost, the theatrical Swedish hard rock outfit led by pseudonymous frontman Cardinal Copia (formerly Papa Emeritus) and featuring a horde of costumed "ghouls," is coming to Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater on Nov. 25. Tickets start at $43.25 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Click here for details.

The Grammy-winning group just released their latest album Prequelle, which is full as always with old-school hard rock riffs and dark melodies akin to those of Iron Maiden or Alice Cooper. In recent years the group's staunch adherence to anonymity has disspiated, first partly due to a lawsuit involving multiple members of the band; later after Papa/Cardinal/frontman Tobias Forge decided to begin giving limited interviews as himself.

Either way, Ghost puts on a great live show; their local debut at the Ritz Ybor was one of our favorite Tampa Bay concerts of 2015. Click here for a review.
