Alessia Cara coming to Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater
For an unimpressed, antisocial pessimist, Alessia Cara sure gets around.
Last fall, she popped up at Raymond James Stadium for a surprise performance of her huge hit Here alongside Taylor Swift. Then she came back to Tampa for the 93.3-FLZ Jingle Ball in December. Now she's on tour with Coldplay.
And this fall, she'll be back in Tampa Bay for her first headlining show in this area.
Cara has announced an Oct. 27 date at Ruth Eckerd Hall, part of a huge headlining tour in support of her 2015 album Know-It-All. Joining her will be fellow Canadian pop singer-songwriter Ruth B (Lost Boy) and Nathan Sykes, formerly of British boy band The Wanted.
For Cara, the move to headlining theaters is a big step up from back when she was just a Canadian teen posting bedroom covers on YouTube. But she'll take it.
"Just because I have a song that exploded doesn’t mean I have to abandon everything," she told us last year. "I still want to maintain that relationship (with fans) and continue to show people that it’s not going to change me."
Tickets to the show are $38.75 and up, and they'll go on sale soon. Click here for details.
