Alexander and the Grapes, Cigar City Brewpub team up for Tampa Bay's latest band-themed beer
So far in 2013, we've seen releases from local breweries paying tribute to Have Gun Will Travel, JJ Grey and Gwar. Next on the band-beer collaboration list: Alexander and the Grapes.
The beloved St. Petersburg alt-rock group teamed up with Cigar City Brewpub to create a signature beer, an IPA brewed with muscadine grapes from Dade City.
“I was stoked because he seemed like a real fan and worked at my favorite brewery,” said singer Alexander Charos. “We met up at New World, shared beers and Drum tobacco, then brainstormed beer ideas. It was great.”
The band will return to New World Brewery on Friday to celebrate the release of their beer and an amber-tinted 7-inch. For more, click here for Ray Roa's full story.
