Arctic Monkeys coming to Jannus Live in St. Petersburg
In Europe and the rest of the world, Arctic Monkeys are a massive, arena-filling, festifal-headlining band. They've flirted with that sort of success over here, too, playing a run of arena dates with the Black Keys in 2012.
Here in Tampa Bay, though, they keep playing small venues. How cool is that?
After two gigs at the Ritz Ybor in recent years, the Mercury Prize-winning British rockers are coming to Jannus Live on Feb. 1. Tickets are $27.50 advance, $30 day of show, and they go on sale Nov. 8. Click here to get them.
After breaking through with the propulsive punk single I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor in 2005, Arctic Monkeys seemed poised to pick up where Oasis and Blur left off in the canon of British rock 'n' roll. Their ensuing albums and singles have continued winning critical acclaim, and have led to some massive gigs -- like performing Come Together at the opening ceremony to the London Olympics -- but in some corners of the U.S., they're still relatively unknown.
Word to the wise: Don't miss out on 'em this time around. Exactly one week after their Jannus Live date, Arctic Monkeys will headline Madison Square Garden.
