Aretha Franklin coming to Sarasota's Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall
Voices don't get much bigger than Aretha Franklin's. Her increasingly rare concerts don't, either.
So it'll absolutely be worth a couple of bucks in tolls for you to drive to Sarasota when the Queen of Soul performs a rare show at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on March 29. It'll be her first performance in Sarasota, and her first in the Tampa Bay area since 2005 at Ruth Eckerd Hall.
The chance to hear the legendary singer perform a night of her biggest hits (Respect, I Say A Little Prayer), as well as other soul and R&B classics, doesn't come along very often. And if you saw the recent Kennedy Center Honors concert -- during which Franklin's performance of (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman brought President Obama to tears, and made Carole King lose her mind with excitement -- you know she can still bring the house down.
Tickets to see Franklin in concert are $55-$180, and should be worth every penny. For details on the show, call (941) 953-3368.
