Ricky "Paradox" Rosa has spent 30 years as an MC, taking the stage at venues like Madison Square Garden and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But the Tampa rapper is taking on a different role these days. He's trying to unite disparate parts of the Tampa hip-hop scene under one banner, the Zulu Nation, a group created in New York City by hip-hop pioneer Afrika Bambaataa.

"My goal is to keep my pioneers relevant," Rosa said. "I am real big on that. The up-and-coming, they have time. My pioneers, they don't have much time left."

On Saturday, Paradox will host a will co-host a Zulu Nation fundraiser for Oklahoma tornado victims at Crowbar, with performances by VII, Imagiin 360, FLA All Day, Epik Reign, Jermaine "Jroc Jones" Molphus, GenoLexis and more. Donations of $5 accepted at the door.
