B.B. King coming to the Capitol Theatre in Clearwater
B.B. King is a familiar face in Clearwater, as he and Lucille are semi-regulars at Ruth Eckerd Hall. But Tampa Bay blues fans have never seen him quite like this.
The blues legend will play two nights at Clearwater's newly renovated, soon-to-reopen Capitol Theatre, starting with a New Year's Eve show on Dec. 31. He'll follow that up with a gig on Jan. 2. Ruth Eckerd Hall is calling this "a new tradition," suggesting you can look foward to special New Year's Eve shows at the Cap for years to come. (Side note: We're not sure The Thrill Is Gone is exactly the best song to ring in a new year, but hey, any chance to see the King, we'll take it.)
Tickets to the Dec. 31 show are $86-$150, and tickets to the Jan. 2 show are $69-$125. Both shows go on sale at noon Saturday.
B.B. isn't the only blues great coming to Clearwater in the next few months. At Ruth Eckerd Hall, you've got Joe Bonamassa on Nov. 15 and 16, Buddy Guy and Jonny Lang on Nov. 19 and Bonnie Raitt on Dec. 3.
