Bonnaroo lineup: Dwight Yoakam, Weird Al Yankovic, A$ap Rocky, Daniel Tosh among artists coming to Tampa Bay

Why is Bonnaroo such a big deal to Tampa Bay music fans? Two reasons:

1. It’s one of the biggest and most interesting rock festivals in America, and it’s within a day’s diving distance of Tampa Bay.

2. Most of the artists on the Bonnaroo bill tend to build tours of the Southeast around their appearance at the festival, which means plenty of artists come to Tampa Bay on their way to or from Manchester, Tenn. In the past few years, Bon Iver, Animal Collective, Robyn, Puscifer, Two Door Cinema Club and City and Colour are among the acts who’ve stopped through Tampa in early-to-mid June, thanks to a gig at Bonnaroo. This year's headliners, Paul McCartney, Mumford & Sons and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, have no local shows yet, but we can hope, can't we?

So with this year’s Bonnaroo lineup unveiled today, let’s see which acts also have shows planned in Tampa Bay. We certainly expect more to be announced in the coming weeks — especially as we get closer to June 13-16, the dates of this year’s festival.
