Busch Gardens' Bands, Brew & BBQ lineup adds Earth, Wind and Fire; Sugar Ray; Gin Blossoms
The first weekend of Busch Gardens' Bands, Brew & BBQ concert series is in the books -- click here for our report from Day 1, featuring Jason Derulo -- and the park shows no signs of slowing down.
On Saturday, legendary funk outfit Earth, Wind and Fire will take the stage in Gwazi Park, while on Sunday, it's a flashback to the '90s with Sugar Ray and Gin Blossoms. As always, both concerts start at 5 p.m. and are free with park admission.
Busch Gardens and its sister park SeaWorld have seen their Bands, Brew & BBQ concerts marred by controversy in recent months, as artist after artist cancelled appearances over SeaWorld's negative potrayal in the documentary Blackfish. But SeaWorld Parks, which owns both parks, isn't taking the criticism lying down, doubling down on its concert series by booking such big names as Kid Rock, Alan Jackson and Gretchen Wilson, among others.
As for the rest of the festival? Saturday's show with Jason Derulo was marred by grey, chilly weather, but assuming the forecast clears up this weekend, expect a big crowd of craft beer aficionadoes sampling more than 100 beers, including local brewers like Florida Avenue, 3 Daughters, Big Storm and Tampa Bay Brewing Company.
