Charlie Wilson, Fantasia coming to the USF Sun Dome in Tampa
If it's possible for an arena-filling soul music icon to be underrated, that might be the case with Charlie Wilson.
Uncle Charlie's been a legend since his Gap Band days, making hits of electro-funk gems like like You Dropped a Bomb On Me and Party Train, and even in his 60s, he can still throw down and incredible vocal performance (see John Newman's Tiring Game). So sleep on his resume at your own risk.
But Wilson has been a busy man in the past decade, headlining several arena tours and releasing new albums. He'll do both in 2017, with a new LP, In It to Win It, due Feb. 17, and a tour that hits Tampa's USF Sun Dome on March 23.
Joining Wilson on this trek are American Idol and Grammy winner Fantasia and pop duo Solero. We are unlikely to see some of the many stars who contributed to In It to Win It -- Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, T.I., Robin Thicke -- but you never know.
Tickets to Wilson's Tampa show are $48.50 and up, and they go on sale Jan. 20. Get out there and appreciate him while you still can. Click here for details on the show.
