Clearwater Sea-Blues Festival lineup: JJ Grey and Mofro, Walter Trout, the Sheepdogs and more
The Clearwater Sea-Blues Festival is an often-overlooked highlight of Tampa Bay's festival landscape. But with free admission and top-notch bands in Coachman Park, it's an event more people are catching onto.
The 2017 Sea-Blues Festival, Feb. 18-19, has just solidified its lineup, and it's stocked with talent both local and national.
North Florida swamp-rockers JJ Grey and Mofro (above) will headline opening night on Saturday alongside the Record Company, the Sheepdogs, the Congress, the Ries Brothers and Bear & Robert. On Sunday, it's venerated bluesman Walter Trout, along with Sonny Landreth, Mike Zito, Selwyn Birchwood, the Betty Fox Band and Soullz.
Gates open at noon both days, with the headliners going on around 7:30 or 8 p.m. While general admission is free, you can purchase a reserved seat for $25 and up per day. And don't forget about the annual "Blues Walk," a free stroll along Cleveland Street, where bars and restaurants will offer themed dinners, drink specials and live music.
