1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheatre no longer called the 1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheatre

When the Ford Amphitheatre was rechristened the 1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheatre in 2010, we called it the WORST. NAME. EVER. And we weren't alone. The outcry over the Tampa concert venue's odious name stretched from coast to coast.

Pitchfork ridiculed us. Pollstar ridiculed us. A protest page sprouted up on Facebook. And for three years, we music fans had to live with it.

But no longer.

The 1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheatre has dropped the 1-800-Ask-Gary from its name. The venue's new name, at least for now? "Live Nation Amphitheatre at the Florida State Fairgrounds." Richard Danielson and Patty Ryan have the story.

So what now? Well, the most obvious fit for the name -- Hard Rock -- says it's not a player in the naming-rights discussion, at least not yet. "Live Nation Amphitheatre" isn't horrible. But hopefully a company with a less-mockable name will step up and buy the rights.

So we put the question to you: What would you music fans like to see the new venue called? Leave your suggestions in the comments. We may (or may not) publish some of the best.
