2011 Tampa Bay Blues Fest: Jonny Lang, Trombone Shorty, Robert Cray lead lineup
Seems early to be posting this information, but what the heck, it's been out there for a few weeks. The lineup for the 2011 Tampa Bay Blues Festival has been announced, and there are a bunch of real winners in the bunch.
You all know how we feel about Trombone Shorty, above (click here and here if you don't), so we're super-happy he and his band, Orleans Avenue, will be at Blues Fest. So will blues whiz Jonny Lang and inimitable festival vet James Hunter. The Robert Cray Band, Irma Thomas, Tab Benoit and the Lee Boys are among the other boldface names on the bill.
Organizers also plan to bring back the Blues Fest "After Shows," which this year will take place at the Palladium Theater. On Friday and Saturday, for just $20, you can get down and dirty late at night to Michael Burks, Mike Zito, Janiva Magness, the Lee Boys, Tommy Castro and Curtis Salgado. Click here for details on the After Shows.
Single-day tickets to Blues Fest are $25, with three-day passes starting at $70. Click here to purchase.
