Aerosmith cancel summer tour, including Tampa concert
In case you missed it, Aerosmith canceled the remainder of their summer tour due to head injuries suffered by singer Steven Tyler during a recent gig in Sturgis, S.D. That means all upcoming gigs -- including the Tampa show at the Ford Amphitheatre that had to be rescheduled in July -- are kaput.
"Words can't express the sadness I feel for having to cancel this tour," Joe Perry said in a statement. "I would like to thank our loyal fans for sticking by us through thick and thin and all the good energy they are sending our way. We hope we can get the Aerosmith machine up and running again as soon as possible."
Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. Go here to read Aerosmith's entire statement.
Bad week all around for fans of '80s hard rock -- as you may have heard, Whitesnake has pulled out of Sunday's Judas Priest concert at the St. Pete Times Forum due to singer David Coverdale's ailing voice.
