Al Pacino coming to Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater

WHAT THE HELL. Ruth Eckerd Hall is on FIRE today, people.

First they announce MGMT coming to town in October. Now we hear that Al Pacino -- yes, THAT Al Pacino -- is coming to Ruth Eckerd Hall for an Inside the Actor's Studio-style Q&A session. The announcement from Ruth Eckerd Hall says Pacino will also "re-create some of his favorite characters live on stage."

We know this has nothing to do with music. We do not care. This is so big it crosses any lines of artistic media.

"An Evening with Al Pacino" will take place at 8 p.m. Nov. 19. Tickets go onsale Aug. 28, which isn't for a while now, but geez, you better get in line early for this one. They'll cost $50, $85 and $150. A limited number of VIP tickets, which includes a reception and a meet-and-greet (!) will be available for $250.

(UPDATE: Looks like our own Steve Persall will be playing the role of James Lipton, hosting and moderating the Q&A. Click here for the latest.)

All this comes one day before Ringo Starr -- a friggin' Beatle! -- performs at Ruth Eckerd Hall. Every other concert venue in town just lost the week. That is, unless the Straz or Mahaffey wants to announce evenings with Robert De Niro and Arcade Fire, or Meryl Streep and Radiohead.
