Allman Brothers Band, Robert Plant, Widespread Panic lead Wanee 2011 lineup
Coachella announced its 2011 lineup this week: The Strokes, Arcade Fire, Kanye West, Kings of Leon, Duran Duran.
So did the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival: Bon Jovi, Jeff Beck, Lauryn Hill, Wilco, Kid Rock, Jimmy Buffett.
But if you're into jam, jazz, folk, blues and funk, both announcements were a mere precursor to Friday's unveiling of the lineup for Wanee 2011 in Live Oak.
Among this year's Wanee headliners: The Allman Brothers Band, Widespread Panic, Robert Plant (above) and Band of Joy, Steve Miller Band, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi Band, Ween, Stephen Marley, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Hot Tuna, Galactic, North Mississippi Allstars, Rusted Root, John Popper and the Duskray Troubadours, Wanda Jackson, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, Phish's Mike Gordon and so many more.
This year Wanee is expanding to three days, from April 14-16, at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak. Tickets go onsale Saturday (1/22) starting at $188.50 for a three-day pass.
