Allman Brothers Band, Widespread Panic, Gov't Mule, George Clinton lead 2010 Wanee Festival lineup
Yesterday we brought you this year's 2010 Harvest of Hope festival lineup. Today it's Wanee's turn.
The Wanee Festival, one of Florida's biggest and best musical weekends, announced its lineup of jam, funk, blues and Southern rock favorites this morning, and it's a doozy.
Among the headliners: Allman Brothers Band (playing two nights), Widespread Panic (above), Gov't Mule (who are playing Tampa next week), Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi Band, Stephen Stills, the Black Keys, Dr. John, Hot Tuna Electric, JJ Grey and Mofro, Johnny Winter, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, the Funky Meters, the Wailers, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, North Mississippi Allstars and something called "Bob Weir, Rob Wasserman & Jay Lane are Scaring the Children." Whatever that is.
The event is April 16-17 (with a kickoff party April 15) at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak. Tickets go onsale Jan. 22, and they're priced accordingly:
-- If you purchase between Jan. 22 and Feb. 22, they're $158.
-- If you purchase between Feb. 23 and April 14, they're $178.
-- If you purchase at the gate, it's $188.
-- VIP tickets are $358.
Oh, how will you dirty, penniless hippies ever be able to scrounge up that much scrilla? You'll have to sell twice as many homemade beaded hemp bracelets between now and then for gas money! (Just kidding; this actually does sound like a pretty excellent festival.)
