Anberlin headlining 97X Fisher and Boy Birthday Bash at the Ford Amphitheatre

Last year's 97X Fisher and Boy Birthday Bash featured one of Soundcheck's favorite bands, Third Eye Blind. This year? They're looking within the Sunshine State for a headliner.

Winter Haven rockers Anberlin will top the bill at the fifth annual Fisher and Boy Birthday Bash on April 11, according to the station. The show is moving from Derby Lane in St. Petersburg to the courtyard stage at the Ford Amphitheatre in Tampa. Tickets will be $10.

"It's absolutely an honor," singer Stephen Christian told Fisher and Seth on the radio (click here to listen). "I've been a huge fan of 97X for so long. It's going to be amazing. Not only is it our wonderful birthday bash, but it's a homecoming show, so those are always pretty amazing."

Christian said Anberlin is working on their next album, which they hope to wrap up this spring, and it's "not outside the realm of possibility" that fans will hear new material at this show.

Opening the show are the hardest working kids in Tampa Bay modern rock, Not Tonight Josephine, who have scored yet another great gig with this show. In 2009, they performed at the 97X Memorial Day Backyard BBQ alongside Mute Math and the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus; won a Best of the Bay Award (“Most Promising Rock Band”) from Creative Loafing; and performed at the NASCAR Nationwide Series Ford 300 at the Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Check out Fisher and Boy's Facebook page for details on the show.

According to the official concert page, which is now up and running, tickets go onsale Wednesday. Chris McCarty and Rude Squad are also on the bill. You may now carry on with your day.
