Andrea Bocelli coming to the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa
Placido Domingo is in Tampa this week. We're crossing our fingers that Josh Groban's 2011 tour comes to Tampa, too. And today, we've recieved word that another opera legend is coming to the Sunshine State.
Andrea Bocelli will perform at the St. Pete Times Forum on Dec. 4, the Forum announced today. It's one of only six shows Bocelli has planned for the United States in 2011. He will be accompanied by a 71-piece orchestra and 60-member choir, as well as Tony-winning singerHeather Headley and soprano Anna Maria Martinez. In other words: This show might give Lady Gaga's upcoming Monster Ball tour a run for its money as the most extravagant, outsized concert of the year in Tampa Bay.
Still not impressed? Bocelli has sold more than 65 million albums worldwide, which is more than your precious Bieber (but probably not as many as your precious cast of Glee). And we're willing to bet that when Bocelli sings Time To Say Goodbye, there won't be a dry eye within a three-mile radius of the St. Pete Times Forum.
Start scraping together your pennies for tickets, because this sounds like a once-in-a-lifetime live music experience. Tickets are $75-$350, and they go onsale at 10 a.m. April 11. Click here for all the details of the show.
