Artist of the day: Adam Randall
Clearwater singer-songwriter Adam Randall has a delicate whisper of a voice that, at its softest, calls to mind Damien Rice or Iron and Wine's Sam Beam. When he performs with a full band, the sound is more fleshed out, with touches ranging from mid-'90s alternative to tweelike indie folk.
"I like to think that it's lyrically honest -- that which is most personal is most universal," he said.
He's been writing music for some 20 years, and he leads music at Skycrest Baptist Church in Clearwater on the weekend. "I tend to think that music is a language we are all sort of born knowing," he said. "Not that everyone can play or sing, but that everyone can be moved by it. I hope that is what is happening week to week."
On Thursday, he'll be performing at Orpheum in Ybor City alongside Hunter Myers, Murdok and more.
Tickets are $9. Click here for details.

50 Concerts
Why would anyone voluntarily attempt to see 50 concerts at 50 different venues in a single summer? Jay Cridlin shrugged and thought: Eh, why not.
