Artist of the day: Algorhythm Sky
Algorhythm Sky doesn't play typical Nashville country music. In places it's pure old-time outlaw counrty, with strings and banjos and dusty folk touches (From Dusk, BONESHAKE/To: Dawn). At other times it's got a jammy feel-good vibe (Wasted).
The band's lineup: Jonny Jenaro (vocals/guitar), Dani Schmier (vocals/violin/bass), Agnes Kline (cello), Matt Ransom (bass) and Diego Berry (percussion).
Algorhythm Sky will perform at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at Skipper's Smokehouse, after Fight Another Day, Gary Osborne and Bill Johnston. Doors open at 7 p.m.; tickets are $5.
And on Oct. 7, they'll be performing at Sacred Grounds Coffee House in Tampa. This show will serve as a release party for their six-song EP We Don't Look Up Enough. You can sample the disc here, or come out to Sacred Grounds and pick up an autographed copy for just $7. The proceeds go toward the recording of their first full-length album.
