Artist of the day: Bride of Chaotica

Guitarist Bill Bechtel, bassist Robert Redmond and drummer Tim Tuthill are Bride of Chaotica, an instrumental jazz-rock-fusion outfit that describes its music as “adventurous, propulsive, psychedelic ... (and) vividly cinematic.”
Earlier this year, the group released their debut album, Bamboo Transistor, recorded live at Pro Star Studios in St. Petersburg. The album was meant to capture the group’s unique live sound, and offer a couple of curiosities to boot — a jazzy take on Dusty Springfield’s The Look of Love and an electric, fuzzed-out rendition of the Beatles’ Norwegian Wood.
On Friday, Bride of Chaotica will perform at Dave’s Aqua Lounge in St. Petersburg. On Aug. 19, you can look for them at the Hub in downtown Tampa.
