Artist of the day: ChilWil Bravado
You can call ChilWil Bravado a jet-setter if you want -- he was born in Richmond, Va., and travels between Tampa and Las Vegas, where he's moving in the coming weeks.
But the man born Wilbur Nathaniel Morris Jr. has his feet planted squarely on the ground when it comes to his artistic vision. His spacey, futuristic hip-hop album Virginia Is for Aliens, available on iTunes, combines 16 songs of Outkast-y creativity and instrumentation (Bravado plays multiple instruments, including piano and guitar).
A member of the hip-hop mixtape collective Real Life Entourage and former intern at Indie-Pop (home to hypercolor club-hop acts like The Pack and the Cataracs), Bravado has lofty ambitions. Like Lady Gaga, he's got a taste for Andy Warhol -- his next album, Warhol Wil: Factory Girl is in the works for next year. In the meantime, he'll keep pushing his synthy single Another Go through regional tours and online.
