Artist of the day: Christopher Costabile
Christopher Costabile suffers from Crohn’s disease, an inflammatory condition affecting the gastrointestinal system. He’s spent more than 70 days in the hospital for Crohn’s treatment, and nearly died from it in 2010.
So he’s doing something about it. The Brandon singer-songwriter created One Single Wish, a holiday album benefitting the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. The album features original Christmas songs with contributions from an array of artists in the Tampa Bay area, including WeakSauce’s Justin Vilardi, Beardsley’s Brian Berry and Jason Kushner and Ironwood’s Jaclyn Hicks. Costabile’s goal is to raise $5,000 for Crohn’s research and treatment.
And on Dec. 13, Costabile and these musicians will bring One Single Wish to life with a benefit concert at New World Brewery. They’ll play the album in its entirety, as well as a few other holiday songs. The concert is at 8 p.m.; admission is $10. For details, click here.
