Artist of the day: DJ Just Steph

Stephanie Gaier, better known as DJ Just Steph, spins house and hip-hop and dance clubs, gay clubs, straight clubs, beach clubs and basically just about any type of club you care to dance in.

"I love house music -- dirty house music with a lot of vocals and hard bass," she told tbt* in 2009. "It's a lot more fun than playing top 40/hip-hop, but I like to play the classics and tie in some crazy remixes of tracks everyone knows and loves, just to force everyone to keep an open mind while they are dancing their asses off."

You might spot her at Vintage Ultra Lounge in St. Petersburg, where she has a residency on Wednesday and Saturday, or Bellini's in Gulfport, where she spins on Sundays. She also recently returned from the Ultra Music Festival in Miami.

She's got a nice gig lined up for Friday. She'll be spinning at the Kennedy in Tampa for an appearance by Amber and Flo from the Oxygen reality show Bad Girls Club. There are drink specials, plus ladies in lingerie get half-off cover all night. (Maybe if you show up nude, they'll let you in for free?) Click here for the details.

You can download some of Steph's mixes on her MySpace blog. Below, check out her remix of Dorrough's Ice Cream Paint Job and DJ Chuckie 's Let the Bass Kick.
