Christian hard rock group The Eternal Affect have been dancing around fame since 2006, when they formed in New Jersey and, after recording their debut EP Deo Vindice, landed slots on the Warped Tour and Bamboozle Festival. With a melodic emo-punk sound similar to Thrice, Thursday or Dashboard Confessional, the group was taken under the wing of Central Florida metal icon Jon Oliva (Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Savatage, Jon Oliva’s Pain), and are currently recording their debut album.

Not long ago, singer-guitarists Nikos Klimentos and Matthew LaPointe, singer-pianist Benjamin Burnahm and drummer Mark Recca added a new ace in the hole: Casey Schuber, a Hollywood contestant on Season 10 of American Idol, on keys and vocals.

On Saturday, The Eternal Affect will open for Jon Oliva’s Pain at the Ritz Ybor in Tampa. Tickets are $25. Click here.
