Artist of the day: Fires of Gomorrah
Metalcore band Fires of Gomorrah uses skull-smashing drums, spiraling guitar melodies and gutteral vocals to create a dark, intense blend of grunge and death metal.
Since founding in 2009, the band -- vocalist Joe DiCanio, guitarists Mickey Beilman and Alex Berard, bassist David Gaulkin and drummer Jonathan Rushford -- has released an EP, Pillar of Salt, comprised of "dark, brutal metal tunes to destroy your ears."
On Friday, you can see Fires of Gomorrah at Crowbar in Ybor City, alongside Singod, Slay the Serpent and Tug. Click here for details. And on June 11, you can check them out at Dave's Aqua Lounge, alongside Consinity and Rise2Brutality. Tickets are $7.
