It's time for yet another entry in Pinellas County's ever-expanding class of young, uber-talented indie-folk troupes: Halibut.

Like the Grecian Urns and the Sun Society and others, Halibut plays warm, sing-along-style folk songs, making liberal use of the acoustic guitar and assorted unexpected instruments.

"We always try to change it up and keep things interesting by band members switching out instruments such as trumpets, guitars and event he occasional ukulele," said singer-guitarist Sam Wolter. "We play sort of upbeat, fun music and always just have a total blast onstage."

The group -- Sam Wolter (vocals, guitar, ukulele), Eric Beaton (guitar, trumpet), Jon Mocs (guitar, drums, ukulele, vocals) and Lee Wolter (bass, drums) -- will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at Transitions Art Gallery at the Skatepark of Tampa, alongside the Sun Society, John Gold and Wolf in the Fold. Admission is $7. Click here for a flyer.
