Artist of the day: Hernando Symphony Orchestra

Classical music in Citrus County? You know it. The Hernando Symphony Orchestra has been a community staple for nearly three decades. Conductor Wayne Raymond leads a group of nearly 60 performers, who audition for membership, then play three concerts each season — in December, February and April. Its most recent program, in April, featured works like Rossini’s William Tell Overture, Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 and works from films like Titanic and Pirates of the Caribbean.
