Artist of the day: Hunter and Avery

(All week on Soundcheck, we’re spotlighting the videos of Ryan Zarra, the director behind St. Pete Beat. His lush videos capture local performers in unusual venues, and also let their musicianship and personality shine through in unexpected ways. Today: Hunter and Avery.)

Sisters Hunter and Avery Moore perform melodic acoustic folk as Hunter and Avery, and their blend of guitars, piano and warm harmonies has won them more than a few fans. Recently, they performed at Tropical Heatwave in Ybor City. Click here to download their EP Kraken for free. It’s recommended if you like the softer sides of Cat Power and St. Vincent.

St. Pete Beat caught up with Hunter and Avery at Ramblin’ Rose Upcycle, where they performed Married in the Sea for a band of “listening vagrants.”
