Artist of the day: The John Daly Project
“The John Daly Project” sounds like a reality show on the Golf Channel. But in fact, it’s the name of a one-man rock ‘n’ roll outfit in Tampa Bay.
Singer-songwriter John Daly has been writing and performing since childhood, growing up in Pennsylvania. Since 1998, he’s released three albums with an array of local musicians, in genres running the gamut from classic rock to country. “I’m very influenced by the ’70s-’80s rock genre: Zeppelin, Tom Petty, even some country/rock,” he said. Look for him performing at an array of open mics around Tampa Bay.
And, oh yeah: There’s that golfer of the same name, who has released some music of his own. “I met him at Hooters in Clearwater and presented him with my card,” Daly said. “He got a kick out of it and is now following me on Twitter.”
Daly even shared a picture of the two of them together. Check it out after the jump.
