Artist of the day: Kimball Collins

If you were a fan of house music in the late ’80s or early ’90s, you may have made a pilgrimage to Orlando for the gone-but-not-forgotten dance party known as “Aahz,” manned by house DJs Kimball Collins, above, and Dave Cannalte.

The weekly rave night, held at venues around O-Town, sated Central Florida’s appetite for acid house music with guest artists like Sasha and Digweed. Collins has DJ’ed around the world since then, but on Facebook and Twitter, clubgoers who miss the old Aahz days keep pining for reunion shows. The next one is slated for November in Orlando.

In the meantime, you can relive zome of the old Aahz days when Collins hits the Kennedy, 2408 W Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa, on Sunday night, alongside DJs Tony Faline, Jask, Haus Trap, Viro and Rob Analyze. Click here for details.
