Artist of the day: Latin South Entertainment

Technically, Latin South Entertainment is a label, not an artist -- but its three main artists, June, A-Lex the Analytical and S&P5000, have collaborated on so many songs they might as well be a group.

June, a native Californian born to Puerto Rican and Colombian parents; A-Lex, a New Jersey transplant with Colombian roots; and S&P5000, the son of a Cuban dissident, have varied backgrounds, but they're not afraid to get into politics and religion in their bilingual hip-hop songs, which -- true to the label's name -- have a strong Latin flavor. It's club-ready reggaeton that anyone headed to this weekend's Tampa Bay Caribbean Carnival should definitely check out.

"We basically want to win over Tampa and surrounding cities, and hopefully we can prove to some major distributor that we’re marketable and we have the talent to make a lucrative career out of this," said S&P5000, a.k.a. Sadrac Pampa. "If all fails, we tried and had fun making great music!"
