Artist of the day: The Lighter Exchange

Orlando’s The Lighter Exchange have flirted with mainstream success over the years. Singer-guitarist Christian Wilson was a Maverick Records signee with his band Still Naive, and The Lighter Exchange has toured the Southeast with Candlebox. It’s easy to see why — their music is catchy and polished enough for radio, from the slinky jam Lady Luck to the shimmering arena-rock hopefuls Long Way Down and Morning Comes. In 2011, the group — Wilson, guitarist Jeremy Hagen, drummer Michael Rollo, bassist Jacob Morton and keyboardist Clayton Senne — released a new album, Beneath the Endlessness, that calls to mind Train, Augustana and Mat Kearney.

On Monday, The Lighter Exchange will perform at the Blue Martini in Tampa starting at 7:30 p.m. Look for various specials, including a happy hour from 4 to 8 p.m. Click here for details.
