Artist of the day: Mark Barrios

This weekend's Clearwater Jazz Holiday will bring a handful of familiar local faces to the stage -- Eric Darius, Level 10, O Som Do Jazz.

Another one is Mark Barrios. The smooth jazz guitarist was heavily influenced by Santana and Eric Clapton, and he brings a sensual sensibility to his music. His new CD West Tampa Style has a sultry Latin R&B flavor and loads of Tampa Bay touches that locals might enjoy -- song titles include MacFarlane Park, West Tampa, Cafe Con Leche.

Barrios will perform from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Jazz Holiday. The entire festival starts tonight with headliners Dr. John and Little Feat; other performers include Norman Brown and Soulive. As always, all shows are free. Click here for all the details on this year's show.

If you miss Barrios this weekend, look for him every other Thursday at Lenny's Latin Cafe in Temple Terrace. His next show is Nov. 5. Click here.
