Artist of the day: Matt Facciolla Band

matt.facciolla.jpgSarasota’s Matt Facciolla Band has opened for the likes of Robin Zander, J. Geils Band and John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls. That’s a decent indication of his sound: Classic, melodic pop-rock with an edge.

The Detroit-born Facciolla has been playing since age 12 in cities like Buffalo, N.Y., Los Angeles and Atlanta, where we played during the 1996 Olympics. In 2009, he released Songs For A Needy World, and this fall, he’s releasing Second Chances, a new album mixed at a Buffalo studio owned by Goo Goo Doll Robbie Takac.

On Friday, you can get a taste of Second Chances when the Matt Facciolla Band holds a CD release party at Ace’s Live, 4343 Palma Sola Blvd., Brandon. Tickets are $10-$12. Click here for details.
