Artist of the day: Nature Coast Festival Singers

The Nature Coast Festival Singers were founded in 1994 by Richard Desautels of Spring Hill for the purpose of singing Handel's oratorio at Christmas. On Sunday, for the first time in their 17-year history, the group will add a "Messiah Sing-along" to the group's regular Christmas concerts. Because of this year's special presentation, the group's regular concert series will feature other composers, with only the Hallelujah chorus from The Messiah.

Choir members from area churches are invited to participate in a "Messiah Sing-along" at 3 p.m. Dec. 11 at Christ Lutheran Church, 475 North Ave. W, Brooksville. There will be mandatory practices at 7 p.m. Thursday and at 2 p.m. Dec. 10 at the church. Those wishing to sing should call Stephanie Sager at (813) 394-8671. Call Shirley Chaisson at (352) 597-2235 for information about the Nature Coast Festival Singers or the concert.
