Artist of the day: Neglected Superhero
Four years ago, the pop-punks of Neglected Superhero decided to take a break.
Singer John Apsey and guitarist Danny Long co-founded the group in late 2003 (one of its original members was Select Start's Joe Guerra), and they shared a stage with raw punk favorites like Bayside. but in 2005, "life changes" prompted the members to go their separate ways.
Earlier this year, though, Apsey and Long got the itch to reform. So with the blessing of the other former members, they recruited guitarist-vocalist Frank Khalifa, bassist Mike Raimondi and drummer Brian Zygmunt to join the new Neglected Superhero.
On Saturday, Neglected Superhero will return to the stage for the first time in four years during a concert with Select Start and Vega Under Fire at 7 p.m. at Transitions Art Gallery, 4215 E Columbus Drive, Tampa.
"We are really excited about pumping this comeback show up and getting back up on stage again," Apsey said.
The reformed band is working on a new 5-song EP, but click here to listen to an older track, Gone.
