Artist of the day: November Rush

November Rush are a pop-rock duo from Tampa with a tightly polished sound and big dreams. Singer Emilie Dias and multi-instrumentalist Rian Ball are in the middle of a Kickstarter campaign to record a new EP, their first since 2010’s Life In Letters. They’re looking to raise $6,000 before Aug. 19, and in return, are promising anything from a digital download of the new music to a private concert plus “a wish you want, within reason.”
The duo’s driving sound and Dias’ vocals call to mind Paramore or Michelle Branch, while Ball’s piano- and synth-driven melodies and hooks almost feel like they could have been written for Demi Lovato or the Jonas Brothers. To get a sense of what their new material sounds like, head to their Kickstarter page and watch the video, which includes a snippet of the new song Superficial Love.
