Artist of the day: Pohgoh
Tampa's venerable New Granada Records is turning 15, and on Christmas night, they'll be celebrating with their popular annual Christmas night show.
This year's special guests: Pohgoh.
The late, lamented Tampa indie-rock favorites are reuniting their original lineup -- singer Kobi Finley, guitarist Matt "King of Spain" Slate, bassist Brad Richardson and drummer Keith Ulrey -- for the first time in 14 years. Pohgoh was one of New Granada's first-ever releases, and fan interest spurred the release of a 19-song anthology, All Along, in 2004.
This is the band's first performance with the original lineup in years (Finley is now an attorney).
"We're looking at thsi show as less of a reunion and more of a timestamp of where it all started," Ulrey said in an e-mail.
The show (with The Tenant and Red Room Cinema) is at 9 p.m. at New World Brewery. Come, all ye faithful.
