Artist of the day: Polyesno

Polyesno has been through quite a few changes over the years. They started as the screamo band Oceana, and were promptly signed by Rise Records. Then they toned it down and embraced more of an experimental indie-rock vibe. And last fall, they changed changed their name to Polyesno.

They’re already planning big things with their new name. Their debut full-length album One Big Paricular Loop — which was partially funded through Kickstarter — was released in January, and it should appeal to fans of Radiohead, Animal Collective and TV on the Radio. And in March, they have tour dates lined up around the East Coast, including shows in Brooklyn and Nashville.

On Sunday, you can catch Polyesno at Whigfest, a new festival taking place in and around Jannus Live, with more than 20 bands and DJs spread across several venues. Click here for all the details on Whigfest.
