Artist of the day: poundSalt
Zephyrhills trio poundSalt likes to slap-a-da-bass. In fact, chunky basslines are often the driving force of the group's stoney, funk-rock-reggae blend. They describe themselves as "Chili Peppers and Primus meets Clutch."
Often, you'll catch the group -- singer-guitarist Casey Jones and guitarist Brett Shock (both also play bass) and drummer Jimmy "Jimmyman" Van Bremen -- out playing with fellow Bay-area reggae-rock acts Burning Tree and Unmotivated. But this weekend, they'll be at the Pegasus Lounge in Tampa, performing with Materia Rustka and others at 8;30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $5-$7. Click here for details.
In the meantime, check out their video for Window, above.
