Artist of the day: The Pundits

After a decade on hiatus, the recently reunited veteran bar band the Pundits are getting back together this weekend for another gig.

The group was formed by guitarist Wally Estrada and “Flash” Gordon C. Williamson (formerly of Louder Than Lions, A Sordid People and Group Therapy) in 1992, but the primary lineup didn’t gel until 1994, when the group brought on bassist Jerry Gabardi and drummer Greg Turman. They stopped playing together in 1999, but Estrada and Williamson met up at this year’s Dunedin Wines the Blues and decided to hook back up, and they reunited for a March 14 gig at O’Keefe’s in Clearwater.

This Saturday, the Pundits will play their original songs once more, alongside the Shakes Society, at the Hideaway, 2182 Main St., Dunedin. Tickets are $5. Click here to listen to an mp3 of the Pundits‚Äô suitably titled Oldtimes.
