Artist of the day: The Reality Band
Bob Marley died in 1981. That means he and the Wailers are fair game for WMNF's New Year's Eve concert, which throws back to 1980.
Enter The Reality Band, who will portray Marley and the Wailers at Friday's show at Skipper's Smokehouse. Hosea Harris, Karim Yassine Hamidi Brown and Griffin PapaYen Newton should be well equipped to the challenge, having taken part in a WMNF Marley tribute at Skipper's in 2009.
Runners-up in this year's Creative Loafing Best of the Bay Readers' Poll for Best Local Band, the group aims "to create a distinctive roots music with clear heartfelt lyrics, smooth body-moving grooves, and unforgettable melodies."
The concert starts at 7 p.m. (The Reality Band goes on at 7:50 p.m.), and tickets are $25-$35. Click here.
