Artist of the day: Rebel Pride
Southern rockers Rebel Pride - the current lineup includes singer Pat Buffo, guitarists Dwayne Shores and Brian Jeffries, bassist Big Dave Stevenson and drummer Sonny Harlan - have performed around town for 20 years, including a concert earlier this year with Gregg Allman at Busch Gardens and one last year with the Marshall Tucker Band. And they've always got a full slate of bar shows year-round.
But one of their most memorable gigs was for a special episode of CMT's My Big Redneck Wedding. "That was either one wacky look at the redneck phenomenon or a vision of the decline of Western civilization," Spittle told tbt* last fall. "I'm not sure which yet."
In February, the band released its latest album, All Points In Between. And on Aug. 15, they'll be filming a video for their song Girls Wanna Dance, appropriately featuring the Chili Chicks dance team, in Jupiter.
Before that, though, you can catch them locally at 7 p.m. Aug. 5 at Quaker Steak and Lube in Clearwater; 5 p.m. (acoustic) and 9:30 p.m. (plugged in) Aug. 7 at Two Buks Saloon in Clearwater; and at 9 p.m. Aug. 8 at Mulligan's Beach Club in St. Pete.
